HTPO's full service planning, design and construction team consists of civil engineers, surveyors, landscape architects, construction managers, drafting and administrative staff, along with solid leadership that has guided the company for over three decades.

HTPO is looking for a survey field technician to perform skilled technical work associated with land, location, construction and/or geodetic control surveys to ensure accurate information and computation for the purpose of right of way, and the design and construction of highways and other transportation systems.

Minimum qualifications include:
- Two years experience performing surveys (e.g. land, location, construction, and/or geodetic control surveys, etc.) mapping or related activities; or one year survey experience plus one year experience performing roadway inspection, design or related activities
- A two-year Civil or Construction Technology Degree or the following four-year degrees: Architectural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering, Land Surveying/Geomatics or equivalent may substitute for one year experience (copy of transcripts must be submitted)
- Able or ability to learn to run and maintain survey equipment, and computer software used in the field
- Technician needs to be self-motivating, punctual, and able to work individually and as a team member
- Acceptable driving record and valid Class D driver’s license
- Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak and understand oral and written information, communicate with employees and the general public in-person or via two-way radio and other electronic devices and to maintain routine written logs and simple records
Physical requirements include:
- Ability to work extended hours during construction season as necessary to accommodate Contractor’s schedule
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and terrain conditions
- Ability to lift 100 lbs maximum and do repetitive work such as lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time

HTPO also has a paid summer internship opportunity for a student majoring in civil engineering.

An interested candidate must have a willingness to support and learn from various engineers and land surveyors, assist in a wide variety of related field and office work including but not limited to construction staking, construction observation, records management, and AutoCAD and/or MicroStation drafting and design.

Minimum requirements include:
- Must be enrolled in a four-year degree program in the field of Civil Engineering (at least 60 credits completed – AP courses included)
- Have a 2.50 GPA or above
- Ability to work in a client-focused environment with a team of multidisciplinary professionals
- Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license
Physical requirements include:
- Ability to work extended hours, if needed
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and terrain conditions
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
